To the left is the park sign on Steiner Street. The whole area is laden with these penis-shaped pillars. They even have HOLES carved in on the tips. Talk about subtle. And this one inparticular has some sort of pee-stain yellow moss growing all over it. Beautiful.
Right around the corner live the Painted Ladies. I wonder what sorts of people live in them, and if they have any weird stories of crazy tourists trying to get inside for more pictures. I mean...these houses are one of the most photographed landmarks in San Francisco...there's no way everyone will look but not touch.
I really suck with directions, but I believe the above shot is from the West side of the park (since Sutro Tower is visible). Down the hill and to the right is the off-leash dog area of the park. There was a big group of dogs there that afternoon, and I really, really, really wanted to go play with them, but as usual I was too shy.
From the North, you can see Golden Gate Bridge peeking up above the horizon, but just barely. And now, for some other Victorians!
No seriously, how cool is that?! Every morning, I'd wake up, walk out on that balcony and pretend I was King of Alamo Square. You would do it too, admit it.
THE BEST VICTORIAN I've ever seen. I want to go up to that cute little breakfast nook and eat some Belgian waffles.
And last but not least, this gem of an entryway. How ridiculously awesome is that?
Show us a local landmark.
Here's the view that you usually see taken. Beautiful houses, but I really couldn't imagine living there, even if I had the money.
